OUR HISTORY
The idea of a Fostoria, Ohio based elevator company came in 1920 after Harold Davis was asked by a local businessman to convert his hand-operated elevator to an electrically operated device. Davis was successful in creating a conversion unit that was cheaper than constructing a new electric elevator. Davis and his colleague from the Fostoria Sales and Contracting Company, Paul Newcomer, began installing these conversion units throughout Ohio in 1921. That marked the beginning of what would become Davis and Newcomer Electric Elevator Company.
In 1968 the company was bought by Rikhard Laiho who ran Davis and Newcomer until his retirement in 1999 when he handed the reigns to his son, Pete.
In 2009, Pete moved the business from Fostoria to our current location on Route 12 just west of Arcadia, Ohio.
